The Hamptons Provincial Outdoor Lounge Armchair is the working heart of the collection — the piece most often ordered in pairs, and the one that decides whether an outdoor room is somewhere people actually sit. It is built from solid plantation teak, traditionally jointed, with the collection’s scallop shell hand-carved at the crest rail and again on the shaped front apron. The arms terminate in a carved spiral volute; the legs are cabriole, swelling at the knee and tapering to a plain foot. Deep separate seat and back cushions give it the depth of an indoor chair.

A Carved Teak Armchair for the Outdoor Room
Two armchairs facing a three-seat settee across a coffee table is the classic lounge setting. Two facing each other with a side table between is the smaller version and works in a courtyard or an alcove. The chair also moves indoors without apology — a hallway, a bedroom, a bathroom — which is unusual for outdoor furniture and a consequence of the frame being properly made rather than merely weatherproof.
Solid plantation teak, traditionally jointed and hand-carved in our Indonesian workshop. Finished in Rubio Monocoat limewash as standard — a hardwax oil that penetrates the timber rather than coating it, so the grain remains visible and the surface can be spot-repaired rather than stripped. Also available raw, or in any of our house finishes.

Care: Teak requires no sealing or oiling. Left uncovered the limewash mellows toward silver-grey over one to two seasons; under cover it holds its pale honey tone. An annual wash with mild soapy water is all the timber asks. Cushions should be brought under cover overnight and protected in poor weather.
