Carved Teak Sun Lounge With Wheels 2m | Hamptons Provincial Outdoor
French & Hamptons Style
The Hamptons Provincial Outdoor Sun Lounge is the piece that proves the collection can hold a poolside without borrowing from resort furniture. It runs two metres long, with a back that adjusts through several positions and a seat and leg section of shaped slatted teak — contoured rather than flat, so the timber itself is comfortable before any cushion is added. A pull-out timber tray slides from beneath the arm for a drink or a book. The arms are scrolled in the manner of the lounge armchair, and the hand-carved scallop shell appears twice, at the crest and again on the foot rail.
- 2000 × 650 × 350mm — full two-metre length
- Adjustable back through several positions
- Pull-out timber tray beneath the arm, supplied as standard
- Rear wheels so the lounge can follow the sun across the paving
- Shaped slatted seat, contoured rather than flat
- 35mm outdoor foam cushion in toile or ivory; also supplied bare
A Carved Teak Sun Lounger for Poolside and Terrace
Most teak loungers are sold bare and look better for it — the shaped slats are the point, and a cushion covers them. Specify the cushion if the lounge will be used for long stretches; leave it off if the lounge is as much an object as a seat. Two side by side with a side table between is the usual arrangement, and the wheels mean neither has to stay where it started.
Solid plantation teak, traditionally jointed and hand-carved in our Indonesian workshop. Finished in Rubio Monocoat limewash as standard — a hardwax oil that penetrates the timber rather than coating it, so the grain remains visible and the surface can be spot-repaired rather than stripped. Also available raw, or in any of our house finishes.
New to the collection, and the piece that decides whether a poolside looks considered or catalogued.
Care: Teak requires no sealing or oiling. Left uncovered the limewash mellows toward silver-grey over one to two seasons; under cover it holds its pale honey tone. An annual wash with mild soapy water is all the timber asks. Cushions should be brought under cover overnight and protected in poor weather.
