French & Hamptons Style
The Athelney is a lantern style outdoor wall sconce built for entries, porches and covered patios where a bit of heritage character is wanted. Cast in solid brass with a graceful swan neck arm, it stands 38cm high and projects 24cm from the wall, holding a handblown clear glass dome that lets the glow spill outward rather than staying hidden behind frosted glass. The flat brass shade sits above the glass like a small cap, shielding the globe from rain while keeping the fitting open and lantern-like.
- IP54-rated and fog resistant, so it copes with wet weather and coastal damp — fine for undercover outdoor spots such as porches, alfresco areas and entry porticos
- Takes a single E27 globe up to 40W (LED recommended), giving a warm, low-glare light suited to evening arrivals
- Runs on standard 240V household wiring with a standard Australian fitting, so installation is straightforward for a qualified electrician
- Solid brass construction with a seamless finish keeps a settled weight of 1.96kg, giving it a solid, non-flimsy feel on the wall
- Handblown glass means small air bubbles or minor variations may appear — a mark of the glasswork rather than a fault
A Heritage Brass Porch Light for Hamptons and Provincial Homes
Mount the Athelney either side of a front door, along a verandah, or at intervals down a garden path for a coastal or French provincial look. Its warm brass tone and swan neck shape sit comfortably against weatherboard, render or brick, and it pairs well with panelled doors, timber shutters and other traditional garden lighting.
Bring a little old-world glow to your entryway with the Athelney wall light.
