A classic French dining chair, the Avignon ladder back is a quintessential piece of provincial furniture. It has a gorgeous curved back design reminiscent of a ladder and its suits well a coastal, country or Hamptons style interior.
Finish
Here it is painted in a very light antique white. The antiquing is a layer that is applied on top of the white to create a sense of depth in the carved areas. The chair can come in a timber or painted finish. Our timber finish is hand done and has a soft antique patina effect so that the recessed areas have more stain and the surface areas are lighter, this gives a sense of depth that no factory finish can achieve.
Upholstery
The cushion here has a structured square edge panel with a thin row of piping, but the seat design is customisable, and you can also have a dome seat or rush seat. The Avignon ladderback is also well suited for the larger person as the seat width and depth is quite large. The fabric is customisable – choose from any fabric from our huge fabric range.
