Design philosophy

Jean-Christophe believes the most satisfying interiors come about when each element relates to other elements around the room. Just like body language, every object has a meaning that resonates and “speaks” to us. Jean-Christophe’s aim is to understand what styles and elements are important to you. He then develops visuals and sketches to assist you in developing and refining that vision. He helps you through each design stage so that eventually a complete picture of your dream interior begins to emerge.

With a background in art, psychology and cross-cultural communication, Jean-Christophe brings a unique and in-depth approach to interior design. It is this holistic method and vision that allows him to go beyond the superficial aspects of the design process and create a space that not only looks good, but also creates the right feeling.

I don’t believe in designing in a set style for my clients. I like to see designs develop out of their inner vision and then like a dialogue really, I gradually give those visions form and detail. This way the interior becomes a reflection of who we truly are.

The design process by stage

INITIAL CONSULTATION

The initial consultation with you creates a clear sense as to how Jean-Christophe approaches your requirements. He will enquire about your goals and needs and discuss different options. What's more, he'll give you cost estimates to help you make the best design choices.
THE HOME VISIT

The home visit will enable Jean-Christophe to learn about your tastes and lifestyle. He will make preliminary sketches and offer creative solutions to suit your budget.
PRELIMINARY DESIGNS

Based on your response to the preliminary sketches, Jean-Christophe will develop these into scaled drawings and collate pictures that illustrate the proposed design.
SELECTIONS AND SAMPLES

Jean-Christophe will take you through the best selection of fabrics, hardware, materials and finishes. Samples can be taken home to help you make the right decision at your own pace.
FINAL PROPOSAL, BUDGET AND SCHEDULE

This will include all costs, details, designs, specifications and a timeframe for the project.
MANUFACTURE, BUILD FINISH

As a highly experienced craftsman, Jean-Christophe closely supervises the making of your custom designed pieces in our workshops by our talented craftsmen and women.
INSTALLATION

Jean-Christophe manages and co-ordinates subcontractors to ensure delivery and installation runs smoothly.
STYLING

Jean-Christophe makes sure that all the final touches and décor are perfect so that you can look forward to coming home each day and enjoy a completely new and elegant interior.
